he wait is over! The new Alliance race for the upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, has officially been announced at this year's Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3). The draenei will join the Alliance in their struggle against the Horde, as both factions venture beyond the Dark Portal to battle the infernal demons of the Burning Legion. Also, at this yearâs booth, Blizzard has opened the show floor for a preview of the upcoming dungeon Naxxramas, displayed a new gameplay trailer featuring the draenei, and released new info on the Hordeâs expansion race, the blood elves.
To coincide with a playable build featuring the new Alliance race at E3, the development team has provided some background on the draenei, and how they fit into the Warcraft mythology:
Millennia before Azeroth's recorded history, the Eredar thrived on their homeworld, Argus, mostly unaware of the war between order and chaos that was raging across the universe. Yet they possessed a remarkable affinity for magic, and so it was only a matter of time before Sargeras, the Dark Titan, the Destroyer of Worlds, descended on Argus to corrupt the powerful, brilliant eredar and convince them to become the first members of his demonic army, the Burning Legion. Those who resisted the demon's vile influence had no choice but to flee the planet, and thus a new breed of Eredar was born: the "exiled ones", or, as they called themselves in their native tongue, the draenei...
Learn more about the history of the draenei and meet the Alliance's new race face-to-face in this brand new gameplay trailer for the expansion, and also make sure to catch up with the latest information about the history of the blood elves on our updated preview pages for World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade.

The Sleep of Reason
At first, all we knew was that we wanted one of the boss monsters of Naxxramas to be either some kind of abomination or at least something that related to the general abomination theme. Naxxramas consists of several separate wings, and each wing has its own theme and of course its own boss monster. The wing we will be talking about in this article centers around one of the Scourge's favorite tools for causing carnage and destruction on a massive scale: the enormous, near unstoppable abominations.
